kromag/puch oil -gas question

Steve Mccui /

Hello, I have a 1978 kromag. When I was in college in 1980 I was doing a project and got a puch motor, with markings ZA50 on it. This motor has never been used. I replaced the kromag engine with this one, everything mounted exactly the same, only the clutch cable attachment to the engine was a little different, but I took care of that.

My questions are:

Choice of gas - I would guess, 89 unleaded 50:1 2-cycle oil

Is this puch motor a one or two speed motor

What oil should i use in the gearcase

What is the correct spark plug

Is my old motor of any value to anyone

Re: kromag/puch oil -gas question

the lower the octane, the better. 3 or 4 ozs to a gallon of gas.

the ZA50 engine is the two-speed version. use a nkg wa8c spark plug.

kromag/puch oil -gas question

Old moped parts are always of use to someone. Never throw old moped parts out, because somewhere, someone is wishing they had it.

Re: kromag/puch oil -gas question

absolutely.

Re: kromag/puch oil -gas question

and I would use no more than 3 oz. of oil, 4 seems pretty high, I run 2.5 right now, which would be about 50:1
