when oil gets cold, it becomes thick. this will retard the free spinning of your wheel when its cold. but as it heats up it becomes thin. and this will alow the wheel to spin freely, but if the oil is too thin, you may have clutch problems. the parts will move a lot more freely and noises will occur. the trick is finding an oil with the right viscosity at all temps.
