Replacement Keys

Hey guys...

I lost the keys to my tomos targa, and I was going to see about getting them replaced. I have an extra for the steering wheel lock, but not for the gas tank.

I know i can't just take the keys anywhere to be copied, I live in the US - i've tried.

Soooo where can I get the replaced?

i think it would be cheaper to just buy a new gas tank lock but thats just me

Re: Replacement Keys

i got my tank key copied...

Re: Replacement Keys

Good thought - but he doesn't have a key to copy.

Re: Replacement Keys

Alright guys... well I started looking for a new cap.

I found 6 on moped warehouse.

4 were non-locking, 2 were locking.

Do I NEED a locking one for my targa? It obviously had one before, but does my replacement have to be one?

Also - what's the difference between the two locking ones?

Which should I choose???

i would get a jnon locking cap only because one day you will be out riding and need to stop for gas. and you'll find out you forgot your key at home.

the top tank uses a larger cap.

Re: Replacement Keys

And it doesn't matter what brand or anything?

it shouldnt. i'd try to find one for your bike tho. call mwh and ask chris what he thinks about the different brands.

Stop dorking around, take it over to a locksmith and have him pick the lock open, and have him fit a key to it--it'll cost almost as much as a new cap, and won't screw up the bike, either!

I'll check and see who you should take it to, if you'd like
