Motobecane Traveler 1980 Leaks gas

Can anyone help? Please excuse me for not know the part names but I am pretty new to this moped stuff. I just bought a moped recently and it runs well but is leaking gas from the plastic tube on the bottom of the bike. It looks like it might be at where it connects to the carburetor (I think that is what it is). Is there some type of sealant that can be used on this? I live in Cincy. If you can help please email me back.

i have the same problem with my batavus. it rns great but after i leave it parked all night there's always a wet spot of gas underneath it. i'll try replacing those parts.

Re: Motobecane Traveler 1980 Leaks gas

you probably have a bad float in the carb. when people take moby carbs off, they often mash the float needle when replacing the top. the float could be sunk too. a fuel stop valve will stop the leak, but the float may be the root of the problem.
