Throttle SNAPPED! Help!

Just like the brake cable inside that snapped a few weeks ago, and I replaced fairly easily, the cable to the gas just snapped on my '77 Peugeot LVS 103. It is a little messier to repair, it seems: Can I just run another cable through the outer protection cable? It seems that should work...

And help would be accepted. Thanks!

Sure, as long as it's in good condition.

was the cable that snapped rusted at all? if it was then the outer cover needs to be lubed or replaced. that should be like 6 or 7 bucks to replace. if you didnt have any trouble slidding the new cable in then the outer jacket should be in good condition. if you had trouble when you slid it in then that could mean that the jacket is kinked and it would be in your best interst to replace that.

Re: Throttle SNAPPED! Help!

Take the outer cable sheath and the inner braided cable with you to a bicycle shop. They can probably cut you a new cable sheath and inner cable with the button on one end.
