Suzuki fa50

i have a suzuki fa50 and i have recently got it running ... well it is running great but the only problem is that i dont have enough power for what i want ... it goes about 35-40 but i want it to go faster ... it has a new top end but i want to upgrade it to a 66 or 70 or 80cc and i just cant seem to find a place to buy it ... i would like your help to figure out what i could get for it ... its all stock and i want it to be a performance machine ... like a racing pipe, air filter, carburator, ignition coil, and much more ... can anyone tell me where to get the "CC" kit or any performance parts for it

deeply appreciated

Re: Suzuki fa50

There are no kits, but maybe you can find a piston similar to the FA50s and have a larger one made. There are places that do this, but require a batch to be made. Find 4-6 others who would commit with you to go in on a batch of, say 70cc, pistons, or whatever size the cylinder could be safely bored out to, and then have them made. I recently went to Powroll, Inc. to have this done for another 150cc scooter. However, they only deal with 4 stroke motors.

Re: Suzuki fa50

mine is a 2-stroke argg

Re: Suzuki fa50

i am willing to join you if you find someone who will make a batch. i just got my fa 50 and need more speed

Re: Suzuki fa50

First, gotta find someone willing and able to do the work. Any ideas, anyone? Then we (?) would need to send them a piston, cylinder and head for them to check over. I just happen to have all three! Then we'd have to wait for the news and probably cringe at the cost. Who wants to start looking for 2 stroke piston makers??

Re: Suzuki fa50

well i am all for it ... i would like to know where you all live so we can get an idea if we can get together or not ... i am from phoenix but i will do what i have to do to get it upgraded to go atleast 50 with tremedous torque

Re: Suzuki fa50

Start looking on the internet. I've emailed one place already tonight.

Re: Suzuki fa50

yes sir ... where do you live?

Re: Suzuki fa50

AIm me at FronkeyXL

Re: Suzuki fa50

I AM FROM MASSACHUSETTS. BUT I FIGURE IF WE CAN FIND SOMEWHERE ON THE INTERNET OR IF ONE OF US FINDS SOMETHING LOCALLY WE CAN SHIP OUR PARTS. I CAN GET MY CYLINDER BORED OUT LOCALLY SO REALLY I JUST NEED PISTONS

Re: Suzuki fa50

i have 2 pistons and i want to ship out to get it done

Re: Suzuki fa50

Scott Jorgenson /

I might be interested too. Depends on cost.

Re: Suzuki fa50

The piston is for reference only. The new piston will be made from scratch. So, you can keep your old pistons. There's a good chance this may never fly. Depends on how many people get involved and how persistant we are.

Re: Suzuki fa50

well who ever it is that is getting the guy to do it give us an update for how much it is and what it is that we can go to - 60,66,70,80,88 ... prices too

Re: Suzuki fa50

I might have a guy in rhode island i am going to talk to him this wekend and should have a good idea by monday. i'll try to get to a puter sooner but thats not usualy possible on the weekends. in the meantime i havecleaned out my carb. smoothed it all out with my dremell on a low speed. gave it a slightly bigger bore. and shaved a little bit off my head todrop it down and give it better compression.i am up to about 45 but i think i need a new coil. i saw an elctronic ignition system for 50cc engines some where on the net i will try to find that site. as far as pipes go there are lots of places selling all kinds of pipes i havn't had my fa 50 too long so i havnt looked into it. also i never run air filters. only mesh screens to keep out the big stuff

Re: Suzuki fa50

MAYBE SOMEONE KNOWS BETTER THAN ME. WILL A JR50 PISTON KIT FIT AN FA50 THE BORES ARE RANGIMG FROM 41-43 AND A PRICE RANGE OF 25-66

Re: Suzuki fa50

i mean i gave the carb a slightly larger bore

Re: Suzuki fa50

I did that too and ended up with a carb that didn't "suck" properly. Had to go back to stock.

Re: Suzuki fa50

yeah its real tricky to get it exactly right. i have ruined a few in the past. you have to be real gentle and keep that dremmell on a low speed

Re: Suzuki fa50

one of our RIM RYDERS supporters will make the pistons and charge us no labor . we will have to buy the stock and decide what material we need or want to use. he is out or rhode island and will ship the pistons to anyone not in the area( i will cover this monitarily to reduce the risk for you). all we need to do is find the stock and figure out how we can get together and pay for that. as far as boring the cylinder i can have that done here. but i am sure that there are places near ya'll that can do this. i will be bringing my guy my piston and cylinder on friday, so i will have all the numbers for you guys on monday. any suggestions on the material we should use. i can get a block of cast alluminum for about 110 that should do about 5-6 pistons

Re: Suzuki fa50

I can call Powroll and ask what they make their custom pistons out of. They are 4stroke specialists, so I'll need to see if their piston use a different alloy from 2 stroke.

Re: Suzuki fa50

The more I've talked to folk, the more I see it is important to get the right alloy for those pistons. I put in one call to a place but haven't heard back. Wiseco might be another good place to check if they will give out the information.

Re: Suzuki fa50

still looking, my guy is ready and has some stock i am going to try cast alluminum for now. sounds like a bad idea but i got nothing to loose i'll let you know how it works out

Re: Suzuki fa50

I have an FA50, only about 400miles, real nice, can only get it up to like 30 max.

If this upgrade works, and if you need more people to go in on this, I'm up for it.

thanks,

Bill

Re: Suzuki fa50

I've got an fa50 but i can't see upping the displacement without a gearing change, it doesn't seem to take long getting to 30 mph but the engine just seems to run out of rpm at that point has anyone got a source for sprockets or gearing?

Re: Suzuki fa50

That's where an expansion chamber comes in as you probably already know. With a narrow headpipe to provide some backpressure for low end and the proper length to allow higher revs, then top speed can be pushed up some, Porting by a pro can help breathing, too. Gearing would be nice to keep the revs down. It's frustrating to see other makes with all the options.

Re: Suzuki fa50

i wish my fa50 did 40 35 would be nice too

Re: Suzuki fa50

Have you had the compression checked on your FA50? Do that and let us know what the number is.

Re: Suzuki fa50

i have the new piston in, but i am breaking it in slowly. it seems like it wants to go but i am holding back for now i'll let you know when the time is right

Lowell Sharrah /

Thank you very much for including the url. It helped us find the correct spark plug for our newly acquired FA50. Thx again.
