Are brake light switches repairable

Can anyone tell me if a seized Puch brake light switch is repairable? Can it be taken apart? Thank you.

Thor.

Re: Are brake light switches repairable

not that i know of

and i don't think they are that expensive either

might be better to replace them

Re: Are brake light switches repairable

they are so tiny.. the little plastic case can be pulled apart if you twist it and pull.. but a tiny spring , two tiny metal contacts and the tiny plastic plunger will suddenly launch into the atmosphere

Then, unless the plastic plunger was obviously broken, you end up wondering what was wrong with the switch..

If the plunger is there but it wont move in or out, try WD40.. take it apart as a last resort. You might need some sort of glue to keep it together after the repair.

but over-all its much easyer to buy another

I agree.

Those switches were not designed to be repaired.
