I just cleaned out my 75' puch maxi fuel tank and there was half a shot glass full of mostly rust and a little bit of other krud, how do I stop the rust,please help I love this moped and I really love the frame and dont want to replace it.

If the tank is thoroughly cleaned out, keep the gas/oil level filled to the top at all times when you're not riding it. The oil in the gas acts as a lubricant and will prevent rust.
what do you mean "keep the gas and oil level filled at all times"? Keep the tank full? Always have the proper 1:40 mixture? What?
And how do you clean the tank well?

i cleaned my tank with moritic acid . worked well,
Moritic? never heard of that.. Maybe you mean muriatic acid.. used to disinfect swimming pools.. its another name for hydrochloric acid.. And it eats steel faster than it dissolves iron oxide (rust) and thats a bad thing.
What's used in most commercial rust removers is phosphoric acid. It dissolves rust much faster than it dissolves the steel underneath.
Another much weaker but more enviro-frendly one is citric acid.. you eat that when you drink KoolAid
I once washed the tank out, sloshing etc. w/ BOROX in hot water, after two days in the sun she was cork dry, sprayed the interior using a reed w/ EXTENDO spray can and let dry for two days. Extendo integrates with the clean but rusty surface leaving an coating that has held up so far!
