murray/puch questions

the plug in the clutch housing? what goes there

my gas cap apparently is not venting would it hurt to drill a tiny hole through the center?

also anyone have any info on this bike

manufactured 4/80 I can't find any info or manual for it anywhere

thanks

Re: murray/puch questions

Where on the clutch housing? Do not drill a hole. Clean out the existing vent...wherever it is.

there dosen't appear to be a vent in the gas cap

unless it vented around the bottom edge

the plug on the clutch housing is down at about 1 inch fom the bottom facing at an upward angle directly below the place where the clutch linkage enters

Re: murray/puch questions

Caps are vented on the inside. A tiny hole somewhere in the center underside communicates with a 2nd hole, also on the underside. But, this 2nd hole is outside of the rubber gasket.

The center hole is tiny, like 1/16 inch.. it may be hard to find if there's rust and crap on the cap.

there is no hole straight through the cap nor should there be. Rain or water can get in and fuel could slosh out and .

Not familiar with that ped, but it sounds like maybe a gearbox oil fill hole.

there is not a hole for the vent on a puch, it is vented through the underside of the cap (it cant get clogged easy). the plug is the crankcase oil fill plug. the drain plug is directly underneith it on the lowest part of the engine.-jason
