oem parts

Brad Williams /

I'm looking for rings for my puch newport II. It's an '80 model with a ZA50 sachs engine. Reading these threads I've discovered that puch changed hands a few times in the past couple of decades - with widely varying product quality. Call me an excessive worrier, but if I order rings over the web (really the only option) how can I rest assured that the "OEM" replacements haven't been manufactured from recycled coffee cans in a five-man back-alley shop in madras? I might do less damage putting the broken ones back in.

Can anyone point me toward a truly reliable vendor?

Thanks very much

by the way

before I get any hate-mail

some of my best friends work in five-man back-alley metal shops in madras.

Does anyone out there have any recommendations for reliable parts suppliers?

Re: oem parts

There are all kinds of reliable parts supplier, you can try <mopedwarehouse.com> or <www.50cc.nl>, do you have a pic of the bike? Are you sure that it is a sachs motor? I have never seen a puch with a sachs motor, and I don't recall sachs making a za50 motor, though puch made one, to my knowledge all puch bikes came from the factory with puch motors
