1970 Mobylette 40v

Hi. I have a 1970 Mobylette 40V (I think that's what it's called) that runs fairly well, but is underpowered and slow unless going downhill (40km/h). The carb has been cleaned as well as the air filter, and it starts easily, but will not climb very well and the throttle is unresponsive sometimes. Any ideas as to where to check next? Thanks!

Yep! Decarbonize it,MAYBE? If the muffler and/or exhaust port gets partially plugged...POWER takes a vacation! don-ohio (:^)
