Moby Leaking Carburetor

Brion Clinkingbeard /

We have an old Motobecane Moby. When gas is put in the machine, it runs right through the carburetor. Also, when we start it, we are only able to keep it running when it is being chocked, release the choke and it dies.

Any Ideas folks?

Thanks

Re: Moby Leaking Carburetor

You have two problems, probably related to dirt or varnish in the carb and gas tank, fuel valve, etc. ..........

First....the float isn't seating the needle valve or the needle valve is bad, letting gas continually run in.

Second, the dirt has plugged up the passages in the carb, and so won't run without increased vacuum caused by the choke to pull fuel thru clogs. don-ohio
