Clogged Gas Cap

Just found out my gas cap on my TOMOS LX is clogged for the 2nd time but in both vent holes! Preferably I would like to fix this myself so how do I remove the crap that is clogging it? Do I drill it out or is there some kind of solvent that I can soak it in to dissolve it? I really dont feel like making a 3rd vent and my spring ends tomorrow so I wish to fix this so I can go riding w/o stalling out every mile.

Re: Clogged Gas Cap

Try spraying it liberally with carburator cleaner. The little red tube that attaches to the spray can should be able to reach where you need to spray.

I just used a pin and that seems to allow enough for it to work now. Anyway, I need to go to Sears tomorrow anyway so I might as well buy it.

Just tried the carb cleaner and it worked but it is still extremely clogged. Is there anything else I can do to unclog it?

Re: Clogged Gas Cap

take a drill bit just under the size of the hole, and with a drill- drill the crap out
