Are you talking about doing the work yourself or paying to have it done. How big an engine rebuild? Many people replace the pison, cylinder rings and gaskets. That's called the top end. Are you going to leave it stock or increase the size ? If you start replacing bearings and seals in the bottom end it gets more expensive.

YEa the guy who looked at my bike had stated it was "tired" and would need an engine rebuild. He mainly said the seals, crank, bearings. He said my gears and all were fine, but i was getting heavy nocking when it would start and i would have to go full throtle to just get it to rev a lil bit. And my piston, rings, gasgets, r all fine too. Thats why
i'm puzzeling over this...if the piston, ring cyclinder aren't worn why wouldn't it rev up?
bearings maybe seals??do you have leaks??crankshaft??not sure why here either.
Can you do a compression test?
is there someone else you can ask for a second opinion?

no thats the thing, but wouldnt it help to replace the berarings and crank after almost 5000 kilometers?
hye guys i got it bck today and here is what he said is wrong with it,"Recommend new engine, hard rod knock, crank bearings, timing change due to damage, need to rebuild: crankshaft, crank bearings, seals, ctr gasget, wrist bearing, piston/rings/head,transmission gasget, countershaft seal,. That is what he put on the reciept. He wants me to rebuild the whole thing he said. So what do u guys think?
OOOUCh... I think I'd be looking at buying a running engine and swapping it.
