Moped keeps blowing lights

How come since I put preformance parts on it the lights keep blowing out.

Re: Moped keeps blowing lights

If you're running higher rpms,there is more current going thru the lamps. Just increase your bulb wattages by 20% and see how it does. don-ohio (:^D

Re: Moped keeps blowing lights

You could also add more lights in line to draw some of that extra juice.

How about a moped with Ground Effects?

Re: Moped keeps blowing lights

If upping the wattage doesn't work, try 12V bulbs with the same wattage as the correct 6V bulbs...

Re: Moped keeps blowing lights

hmm but according to my puch manuel it says that it has ac fr high or low rpms so it shouldnt but i have the same problems

6=LESTER

Re: Moped keeps blowing lights

and maybe throw a sweet 1000 watt system in there too?

Well um it already is a 12v system. How the hell can you put a 1000w system on a moped?

Re: Moped keeps blowing lights

Are you sure the bulbs are 12v? Most 12v volt systems use a combination of 12v for ignition and accesories and a 6v coil for main running lights. I sort of agree with Don-Ohio. More RPMs means more voltage, which in turn means more curent, but its the voltage that's killing your bulbs.

Ok so can you get some sort of regulator?
