If I’m replacing the original piston, do I need to replace it with an over size like this one? I was told to replace the piston and cylinder so they match? Not to replace just the piston using the old cylinder?

I don't think the cylinders are available anymore so you would bore the next size up. I have pistons 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75. I might have original size as well. What is wrong with the bike that would require replacement of the piston?

The piston has an engraving on the top of it that says 1.00? Would that be stock? I just figured since I have the engine completely taken apart I’d replace the piston, rings and cylinder to sorta rebuild it. Thank you for ur help!

So ur saying what’s in it now shows 1.00, and to move up one size would be .25? What about replacing the cylinder at the same time? I was told to replace both so they’ll match, not to put a new piston in an old cylinder? Thank you
