WTB Honda Hobbit Indigan Subframe DM me if you would like to sell one.

Anyone have one of these to sell?
I dont think they really sold too many, they were already in that time period where people had become duly skeptical of ordering from 77, plus the MLM was much cheaper and lighter.
maybe ask shane rickert from DCons, I think he was the one welding em together, I only know of maybe 4 getting actually made?
Yeah I figure it’s going to be a hard find but I’ve seen two sell on here in the last couple months. I was just too late to the party unfortunately. I should probably make a WTB motomatic hobbit rear pulley while I’m at it.

I have a modified stock subframe.
I have a motomatic rear pulley hahah
Chris I'll send you a picture of mine so you can hang it on your wall
I have parts for like 40 of these in my shed. It’s been difficult to find someone who wants to weld aluminum at a pice that is decent. The cheap guys scrap parts, the expensive guys who get it right make them too expensive.
If I can get like 8 people on board to buy these for $200 a piece, I’ll finally buy a tig welder and crank them out myself.
I’d love for this to happen, they are really great frames, and it’s heartbreaking to see all those ready to weld parts gathering dust in my shed.
Shane- Thanks for replying. I’d buy two and could pay you up front if needed.
I think a steel subframe with good engineering would work great!
Aluminum could be stage 6
The heavy gauge steel is over kill! Why not just use a cnc machine and literally cut two Halfs out of aluminum then bolt them together…

until you get an idea of what CNC machining costs, please stop suggesting it as a viable solution for everything.
as a CNC machinist, i see $200 - $300 parts all the time that are no bigger then 2” x 4” and have way less features then engine cases.

These would be raw frames, with 3D printed pedal shaft bushings and UHMW (not printed) chain tensioner, no hardware will be provided. This, and the fact that cut parts are now a sunk cost, helps me cut the price down to $200
If you’re cool with that, and we can find a few more people who want them, I’ll get everything in motion. It may take me a few months, work has has been crazy busy, and there are a few family obligations on the horizon, but I can make it happen.

Also a machinist and agree with this statement, people don’t realize tooling is expensive and machine are even more
Engineer and machinist time is also rightfully expensive.
I'd buy one, Shane. Happy to pay up front.

Much appreciated. We’re 3/8 of the way there! I just found a deal on an argon tank on marketplace, hopefully I can snag it later today. 🤞
Shane I found someone else so I’m up to 3. I am waiting to hear back on a possible 4th too. So we are at least halfway there.

Sick! One of the Dcons wants one too, so were even closer
Sorry im not quite following but is this for building a indigan style aluminum hobbit frame?
Also I saw the part about no hardware but anyone have a basic plan on what would be needed?
I would be interested in one depending on how gross shipping was to Georgia but would like to get an idea of whats being built.

I am the person who designed and helped manufacture the Indigan Hobbit Aluminum Subframe.
There are a pile of ready to weld parts in my shed and I can make subframes, but I need enough people who want them so I can justify the time/tools it takes to finish these frames.
I am asking $200 for a raw (not powder-coated) aluminum subframe, with machined UHMW chain tensioner, and 3D-Printed pedal shaft bushings.
I can provide a list of fasteners you would need to assemble this.
I can also provide an estimate on shipping expenses.
Payment would be up front, and it will take a few weeks (6-8) to get the tools I need, and get the frames welded up. I would share weekly status updates during this whole process.
Oh! Well then heck yeah Im in! You take paypal hopefully?
I'd take 2 of them. Get back at me with the details!!
Ok dudes, I think we've got enough subframes spoken for that we can make these happen!
3 for "C Webber"
1 for "C Looby"
1 for "b to the MOPO"
2 for "TRES RAYOS. ADAM S."
1 for a fellow DCON
By my count that makes 8 subframes!
I'm planning on buying an AHP tig machine. The delivery estimate is May 17-19. All other supplies arrive in a few days. After the welding machine is delivered, it will likely take me a couple weeks to knock these frames out. I'll DM each of you, and send you paypal or Venmo info.
Put me down for 1, I can pick it up at your rally to avoid dealing with shipping, I also dont care about the pedal chain stuff as Im gonna run a one way bearing
I have PM'd everyone that wants a frame with payment info. Thank you everyone! I'm very excited to see that dusty pile of parts become a reality!
Any chance you’ll get another run of these subframes going in the future when I might have some disposable income?
