Sachs 505 c

Henry Donaldson /

Selling a Sachs 505 motor off a 1979 Columbia commuter. I’m Turing it electric and will not need the drivetrain. If you need any additional drivetrain parts let me know. Motor does run but carb leaks

I fairly new to the moped scene, what is fair?

Re: Sachs 505 c

This is what I base mine after

$50-$150 "Roller": engine missing or totally shot, rusty tank, rusty frame, missing hella parts, the thing is just begging to die

$200-$350 "TLC": runs, needs minimal engine work (i.e. replace a head gasket or something), has most or everything on the bike, leaky carb, maybe an airleak here and there, unknown crust included

$400-$ig whatever price if perfect "Baby Fresh Off The Line": low mileage, has everything, no rust, feels like you're on a time machine back to 19xx

For kitted bikes, I probably wouldn't spend over $800 on it.

Re: Sachs 505 c

He's just selling engine I think ..... I'd love a price for it

Sure that's not an A? Columbia used mostly 505/1A motors. It has a model/serial number plate on the right side of the motor. They usually mounted the coil over it obscuring it.

Re: Sachs 505 c

Oh if its in good shape prolly $50-100? def over if shipped

I'd say $150 shipped is pretty fair for a running sachs engine. it'll cost ya 40-50 ship it.
