For sale: 77(?) Motobecane 50v or part out

Don't want this, got no room for this, so it's gotta go

Vin plate is missing, so I'm just guessing it's a 77.

Motor turns freely. Never opened it up to see what it looks like inside. Carb is there, preserved by dirt and grease.

I don't know if anything works, speedo, lights, etc.

Front hub needs axle.

No exhaust.

Chrome isn't too far gone on rack, supports, etc.

Has Peugeot seat.

$200 local pick up in southern California.

Or part out, buyer pays shipping.

Lemme know what you need and I'll make up some cheap price for ya.

May trade for a Minarelli V1 metal fan and base. Not like, the whole bike, I mean parts.

Re: For sale: 77(?) Motobecane 50v or part out

Not that it matters, but it's a '78 or newer, poor thing, condenser prob fried, po destroyed the novi nut trying to get at it and it was shoved to the back of the garage. There's some good stuff still there, the "too hip" sticker makes it all worth while! :) GLWS.

Re: For sale: 77(?) Motobecane 50v or part out

Dang 7k is a hell of a run for a stock moby.

Re: For sale: 77(?) Motobecane 50v or part out

Not really, my first one was sold running like a champ @35 mph, with well over 8k on it, if the oddities are attended to and most importantly the variator is greased on the regular, I did it every 1k, (taught about it by the dealership) they would do it for free, I was buddies with one of the mechanics back in the early '80's...what a grand time to be a 15yo with a shiny red machine! Rode it hard every day it was not raining or snowing, doubles more often than not, only thing I ever did was the Rebel Moby exhaust trick, but did not learn it from him obviously, no MA back in the day, my father and I worked it out, stock gurtner, 1 rear tire and 2 brake cables. I would put an understood Moby against a Honda any time. Great design, but not like anything else, I learned on one, so everything else is weird to me! :)

Downhill Harvey (OFMC) /

Got the right pedal crank w/sprocket?

Re: For sale: 77(?) Motobecane 50v or part out

Sorry, I'm saving it for another project. I've got a 60's Minarelli P1 engine that I'll need it for, if I ever build a bike around it.

Near Huntington Beach. Read the previous posts to see what's left. Most of it's gone.
