add a $....fisherman
Yeah, 3 dollars won’t buy one, but 4 will.
With 500 of these out there somewhere I would think someone would be willing to part with one.
I want a nice one with no sun faded decals or rusty chrome.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!
Let me know what you got

Unfortunately there aren't 500 left. Some, like mine, were destroyed. #99, I probably paid too much and it's gonna take me a long while to get it back to where it should be
Why LTD? Why not just an XK or MKII? They all ride and look great. easier to find too

There was some discussion awhile back about the possibility of there being a double production, and 1000 of these being made. I just traded one of the two known “78’s.”

Nick, that’s crazy somebody painted all that blue. At least they left the white alone. Are you going to leave it original finish or repaint it?
Mark, I have an XK and it is a nice bike. Something about that white with the red/gold, the black chrome, the dash/fairing, it just makes the look for me.
Chris, if there’s 1,000 it should even be easier yet to find. I don’t know that I buy into the whole 500 to each coast thing but there’s got to be something more to it to have duplicate serial numbers.
I wonder how many of those 500 were sent to the scrapyard? I’d be willing to guess that nearly half of them are no longer in existence.

I am going to strip it down and put it as close to factory new as I can. Paint everything, etc.
Nick, that’s awesome. Hopefully you post about it.
Moped Lar, it would be interesting to know. I bet there are a lot of them in garages, sheds and basements that belong to people who have no idea they’re popular and people want them.

Years ago a friend went to go buy a maxi and when he got there the guy was like there is another junk moped on the scrap pile out back. Said to take it if he wanted it. He walked out and it was a pretty ratty ltd but it existed, haha. Probably paid $150 for a maxi and a ltd.
Satan, that’s a good find. I wonder how many are at garage sales and people laugh as they walk by.
All these LTDs are making me want one even more!
Gator, that’s an awesome find! Gotta love the paperwork. That guy has an interesting signature.
Wes66, love the patina! Looks sweet
honestly, how many "$" are we talking here?

they've been asking around $2000 range from the last 7 ive seen sold. now whether they got that range, thats yet to be known. there are a few people here touting flipping them for 2000 and more. who knows?
ive been offered $1500 for mine from a flipper, but who knows how serious that offer was. people say all kinds of shit they dont mean. (edited)
sorry, i meant how many "$" does matt have
i swore id never sell but everyone has a price, ya know?
Potr, depends on the bike. I have a pretty good idea of what they’re worth. wes66 threw out some numbers I agree with. If you’d like to email me some pictures or post them up here I’d take a took and make an offer. Thanks for the interest.

Wow I would sell for that. Just a moped
I'd say a low production, limited run, numbered bike is more than just a moped to some. It is for me, I have Austrian heritage and am a big Puch guy so I love having a piece of history in my garage. Granted it is "just a magnum", sure, but if definitely has a collector value to it.
yeah, itd be tough for me to part with it
Yeah I always say these bikes were over 3k new in inflation-adjusted dollars, so I don't really think the prices are that crazy. I don't really care for magnums myself but I think a clean one in original condition will only go up in value.
As tempting as it would be to sell mine sometimes to try other bikes I don't think I ever could... I definitely overpaid for it and would rather just hold onto it for what I've spent purchasing the bike in the first place and getting a bonded title for the damn thing. There is also the hope of restoring it one day with my future children... But who knows. Money is nice too.
clean well kept complete running etc 2k sounds very fair. its more than just a moped, sorry. i mean look if a clean XK can sell for 1k, then yea seems totally reasonable for a similar LTD to command double that. anything less than 1500 if its clean and tidy seems like a real deal for sure. they are only going up in value, that is a fact.
A magnum XK is not worth more than a grom. If you can sell it for that more power to you. But whoever buys that is an idiot

Sorry I meant to respond to the link above me listing a Magnum XK for $3250. $1000-1500 for a nice magnum (non-LTD) is not unreasonable (edited)
