MOPARTS RACING Clutch for Vespa

MOPARTS RACING Clutch

After a few years of testing, we're finally bringing the MOPARTS RACING Clutch to market.

This is the infamous clutch that works with a "sprocket-like" system.

- T10 gears

- 12mm wide T10 belt

Clutch setup:

Ultra-light weight aluminium clutch bell/housing with a reinforced steel insert

16 tooth front gear/sprocket (51mm diameter)

Rear gear/sprockets - three are included in the set:

26 tooth (83mm)

22 tooth (70mm)

17 tooth (57mm)

Weights

Aluminium clutch housing: 273gr

Aluminium clutch housing + front gear: 320gr

Check out a short teaser video here:

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

The advantages of the MOPARTS RACING Clutch compared to a stock or normal clutch system with a regular belt and pulley are:

- No more belt slip

- Better acceleration and top speed, in part due to less belt slip (for example in humid or wet conditions)

- Decreased wear on the belt as the belt is set in a "timed" position, similar to a chain on a sprocket. The lack of belt slip means this belt will last a lot longer

- A clutch made out of one solid piece of steel. Regular clutches are made using a mold, meaning that they could crack, shatter or explode (as often is the case with the stock variomatic clutch bells)

NOTE:

The kit does not come with anything else. You will need to source you own T10 12mm belt, as well as any clutch internals (such as rings, shims, bearing, clips, starter shoes etc.). In order to align the internals of the clutch, as well as the gears, you may need to add additional shims in the inner housing (underneath the bearing). We provide a belt-size chart and can assist in finding a belt size. Please contact us about this.

Please not that this is NOT a plug & play product. It requires some fine-tuning and technical expertise, especially in regards to aligning the front clutch gear and rear pulley-gear. It is essential that the belt is aligned and straight. If the belt is not aligned, the gears could cut into the belt.

PRICE: MopedArmy price 155 Euros + Shipping (example: Shipping to USA is around 29.50 Euros)

Yup, just posted this in my other topic about my Vespa Ciao Twin Cylinder project bike: https://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,3675037,page=2

If anybody is looking to build an engine and bike like this, we're selling the center piece that allows you to build the engine:

Check it out here https://www.mopartswebshop.com/moparts-racing-boxer-engine-centerlink.html

@Frederick any plans to release a Minarelli Horizontal rear clutch shaft again?

Yes, but it's a tough product to produce, at least to the high quality standards we want to meet. At this stage, it's still on our list, but further down.

Main focus currently is kickstart engines (Malossi, Polini and our own kickstart reed-valve side-intake combo engine) and subframes.

Completely understood. Once you get into gear/shaft hardening it's a whole other wormhole.

Looking forward to you guys producing the KS Reed engine and especially subframes. Aftermarket subs are hard to get shipped over here. Had my own problems with DBR Factory taking my money and then refusing to ship.

Did you get your money back?

We are building modular subframes, meaning:

two side halves that bolt onto each other with a set of solid CNC-machined aluminium center pieces. Slightly easier to ship. Plus you can take off one side completely, whilst your bike is basically still "standing" and you can access your engine without pulling it out of the subframe.

Re: MOPARTS RACING Clutch for Vespa

Do you have a website? I’m curious to see your whole range of products and pricing.

I’ll pretty much buy anything for my Ciao If it fits the build

I got nothing back. No money, and no parts. To this day DBR Factory has blocked me on Social Media because I was asking him for a refund and he didn't want the bad press.

Totally awesome. I have a number of different motor variations (Sacre, Rotary Valve Intake, KS, etc.) that all could use a better subframe.

I'll keep my eye on the site.

Sure, let me know if you need any other special engine cases (Sprocatti, Simonini, Eurocilindro ATG).

Re: MOPARTS RACING Clutch for Vespa

Is this the answer to morini m101 belts getting shredded? Or am I a ding dong?

Re: MOPARTS RACING Clutch for Vespa

this is sick. PM'd you a couple questions.

not unless you want to convert your m101 to a single speed
