How to simply turn an old smart phone into a gps (no service needed)

So I have a bunch of old smart phones ( androids mostly) and I was seeing guys use them as gps and speedos. Though it was pretty cool so I did some research and found out it was dam easy. Old stuff but here’s a link: https://www.instructables.com/id/Ultimate-Bike-Computer-From-an-Old-Smartphone/

It’s kinda lacks at acceleration but once up to speed your good. Looks cool too

If anyone knows how to set a temp guage or rpm gauge on the phone, please share!

Will sell smartphones if interested* lol

Do this with a small tablet and have a huge display.

This is cool, thanks for sharing. I mount my Iphone sometimes but always paranoid my phone that costs as much as my bike will go flying off at some point so I hardly use it.

Finally a use for all of those old phone I have saved in the closet! I would suggest performing a factory reset to delete all personal data in the event the phone falls off the bike and/or is stolen.

didn't know gps and maps would work without service. I have one old phone that doesn't seem to work well. Maybe I'll try it for fun.

GPS always works without service for Speedometer. To see your location.on maps you have to connect to Wi-Fi to download maps for your area.
