Batavus crank stripped.

I bought a Batavus with no flywheel and the stator hanging off. I figured I’d throw on a Puch flywheel and be good to go. None such luck. It seems the threads are damaged on the crank. I can’t get a nut to grab the threads. Any suggestions? I can’t find a replacement crank at treats or anywhere else.

That’s nothin Just chase the threads,

The cheepo Harbor freight metric tap kit should have the correct size one in it but looks like you have other problems too,

Take off the Stator and see if the crank is rusted where the engine case seal meets it

Re: Batavus crank stripped.

cut a nut or tap in half. start on the inside (clamp) and work out slowly with whatever u can hold it with.

Re: Batavus crank stripped.

Yea m10x1mm die will have you set straight. The pitting on that crank looks pretty bad though. You may want to lap the flywheel to the crank before running that.
