Piaggio grande in Louisville

Does anyone know this person or has anyone gone to see the bike? He is interested in a trade for a bike i have. He obviously doesn’t know anything at all about mopeds, in fact I don’t think he even understands how to start it. Says he got it from his neighbor and that it needs and engine or a “shifter”.

Does anyone know anything about it?

Thanks!

He may not know that the decompression needs to be pulled in while kicking the bike over, he may also think there is a manual transmission, in which case there is indeed no shift lever.

That’s my thought. It could be a pretty decent bike - or it could be totally blown out. Maybe there’s a local who has already seen it or someone who knows it’s history. Cheers.

Ive tried to go see it but no response. Id offer him 200 for it

But ive never seen this bike around town or at any meetups. Could be an old bandit bike

In a strange turn of events, the guy sends me this.

I wanted to message back “what a shame” but I refrained. He says he no longer wants to sell or trade. What was a $250 moped is now worth a bit less. I hope he gets it running.
