FS Moped Parts Inventory / Motorcycle Parts Business

Mike Forecki /

Hi guys,

After about 10 years of selling moped and motorcycle parts, I'm exploring selling my inventory / business. I'd be interested in either selling everything together or dividing it up into two groups (moped vs motorcycle). It's been a good side business that supplemented our family income, allowing one of us to stay home with the kids. Now they are growing up and our life priorities are changing. If you don't have dependents, you could run the business full time and cover health insurance, plus make a modest living, so if you've been thinking about doing the moped / motorcycle thing as a profession, this could be a good option.

I've got about $85K in inventory (retail, not wholesale) posted on rustbeltcycleparts.com and the following other inventory:

About 15 mopeds or small motorcycles that run or have been run in the last year

About 40 mopeds or small motorcycles that are mostly complete, project bikes

About 120 moped or motorcycles picked over bikes (mostly missing engines, wheels, and or forks)

About 120 bare frames

85 Moped engines (many are seized/incomplete)

40 Motorcycle engines

200+ wheels ranging from mopeds up to larger motorcycles.

170 large 30 gallon totes of moped parts from parted out mopeds / motorcycles that haven't been listed yet (labeled and divided up my moped)

And lots of other misc stuff.

Located near Milwaukee, WI.

I can provide business financial info etc. PM me with any questions or for more info. Probably setting a time to meet and walk through the inventory with any serious buyers would be a reasonable next step.

any chance youd list the bikes you have available?

bullsachs, I'm planning to give it maybe 6 months to see if I can find someone that runs a similar business already and it looking to stock up, or someone that is looking to get into the business.

That being said, I know its somewhat of a long shot and if I can't find a buyer, I'm planning to list running bikes in spring, 3-4 at a time for in the range of $250-$500 each.

Ian - I've attached a couple pictures of just some of the Puch MS50, Tomos Colibri parts. I have maybe 3-4 pallets of early Tomos models, fitted with the licensed Puch engines.
