I got a friend out there, if my phone starts working I'm gonna let him know, that's a cool whip. I got a similar safari and love it.
You have to be close to getting that running. New tail light bulb? Clean the contacts on the kill switch? New spark plug? Try testing or getting a new spark plug coil? Check points? Check condenser? Check the coils on the stater plate? If you really want to keep it, you have to be close...

aha i'd like to keep it but i have so many other things to work on... couple other bikes, the 2 rx7's in the background, bicycles, my skyline. too much haha
i need to get someone to confirm spark for me while i pedal/engage. i have not tried a new taillight bulb though, that could be it

Do you happen to know the major difference(s) between models? I picked this up for a buddy to get into mopeds and I've never touched a safari before.
Mt300 has the standard tank and vertical rear shocks. Some variation of this led have under seat storage. V1
Mt400 has the standard tank and the frame of the led is also a tank. The rear shock angle forward and attach below that little hoop. V1 air cooled cylinders and V1 with case reeds.
There are fancier versions, but I just covered what you’re most likely going to encounter. As for the step throughs, meh.
Serious, Are you saying the MT400 has TWO usable gas tanks?
MT stands for miles per tank. The frame on step throughs are tanks... add a top tank and boom, 400 miles per tank.

Cimatti Twin Sport has two tanks as well, I believe one year only.
