Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Let me know what you need.

Motor appears stuck at the crank/frozen bearing. Rims, chrome parts have patina and will clean up; no dents.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Confirmed crank bearing frozen. Opened clutch side - zero tranny fluid in there. Didn't wanna mess up the nice chrome flywheel cover so left that alone. Fair to assume some moisture got in and rusted out the crank bearing.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

12mm square Bing carb, intake, mounting bolts, clutch cable with partial air filter box all look good. Spring loaded choke contraption works well.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Hi Dmitry,

How much for the flywheel cover, shipped to 01028? I just bought a Commuter, and it's missing that. I saw you were worried about damaging it... it looks like the Sachs manual says it's tapped on with a rubber mallet, so I guess you'd just gently work your way around prying it little by little?

Also, I just wanted to check that you don't have any exhaust parts? The guy I bought mine from put on an exhaust from another Sachs bike, it comes off the wrong side and doesn't attach to the hanger/bracket.

Thanks, Anthony

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Anthony, buy the whole motor or just the bottom end. Otherwise I'll end up with an incomplete motor no one would ever want. Have yourself a parts motor.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Here are some items I pulled off the bike. Make offers.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Dmitry do you have the headlight assembly and the hand levers for the bike still? My right lever with the small plastic front lever snapped off.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Dmitry do you have the plastic shiny piece that goes around the headlight assembly?

Also do you have and the hand levers for the bike still? I need the short black ones that run off the main levers.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Ruben you mean the part that holds the bulb in? I believe i have one you can have.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

I’ll take that bottom end with the clutch assembly - mainly buying for the main clutch gear or “hub” as the manual states - is it in good shape?

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Everything is sold guys. Only wheels and fenders remain.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Hi Chudas,

Thanks! Yes it is the plastic chrome looking piece that lines around the square headlight. I also need rims now and fenders if not in too bad of condition.

Do you have the light cover?

If so interested.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Dmitry can you pm me price on rims and fenders? Please include shipping.

Kenai, AK 99611

Thanks Ruben

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

You bet. I'll PM you.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Please price fenders only. I just need the fenders as I am powder coating the original rims.

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

I need brake cables and throttle cable

Re: Part out: Columbia Commuter 505/1A

Nothing but rims and fenders left.
