OK, still have time before the weather improves...and hoping to purchase a used oem late model a3 carb and intake pipe for not too much money.

Re: wtb stock Tomos carburetor and intake

I may have the stock intake and encarwi carb from my A3, I would have to dig around..is that what you want, or are you are wanting a sha? Those are pretty easy to come by.

Thanks...it's seems to be the sha model I'm looking for. Based on what I have seen online the aftermarket ones sold on eBay and Amazon are not so good. Figured a used oem carb & intake should fit and perform much better.

I have the piston port a3 carbs.

Encarwi. A83 oem 35 mph. I also have a deluxe Encarwi 88S25101. Metal cap airmix/idle manual choke crazy Wayne mod(overflow port). Had it to 38 on a stockish batavus. Have stock 12,8 intakes also a 12.10 overbore. PM me.

Re: wtb stock Tomos carburetor and intake

the one you are looking for is the very late a3 silver/golden bullet, 89-93 had the 14:12P and a special one-off intake manifold.

the carb can probably be anything off an a35 as well, they had the 14:12P special carb but those manifolds are rare as shit.

you're probably better off buying an aftermarket MLM or whatever manifold and a regular SHA, that gets the carb out to the side, too, and makes it easier to access.

I do have the shorty reed intake for a35 bored out to 13. And a sha

Kinda personal stash. But I have a side shot for it ...

Trust me you don't need side covers you need to not drop the engine Every time you clog a jet.

OK, I see... but would prefer to keep it stock with the side covers..it's an early A3 and trying to convert the carb to the later setup with the slightly larger dia straight pipe and 14:12P only..Thanks!!

Re: wtb stock Tomos carburetor and intake

Just converted my A3MS from old Encarwi to a Dellorto 15:15. Treatland supply a rather expensive manifold, which requires the side cover to be cut to fit the new setup. I decided to make my own manifold(see photo) and fit a Dellorto without messing around with the side cover too much. It's currently running a 54 jet and the results are impressive! Next is to port the cylinder and see what I can do going down that road. My new manifold was made from an old ladder hook, 14mm ID and 15.8mmOD. I bought the carb shims from Dellorto's own website(pennies) to fit the new carb. The new carb is actually a Dellorto copy...a "Rungtong", but is more than adequate.

I was able to find a carb nearby, but still looking for the stock intake. Believe it has S25 stamped on the side. Going to need the plastic shim and dellorto cable adjuster, but Treats should carry these...Thanks!
