FS 1977 Free Spirit

Okay here goes nuffin

Taking my collection to one bike (we’ll see if I ride it in the coming weeks/months/year)

So here’s my 1977 Sears Free Spirit. The top bar was put on by the PO. Bought the frame from Straubzilla and made what you see here. Not interested in trades....and I’m in the black hole of mopeds known as Fayetteville, Arkansas so we may need to work out shipping/transportation from 72701

Here are the specs....$700 obo

-77 Free Spirit frame and swing arm painted Subaru desert khaki metallic

-Peugeot TSA tank painted in Subaru world rally blue

-MLM pan with marine vinyl custom seat

-EBR stainless inverted puch forks

-e50 with 70cc treats kit with Malossi reeds

-MLM flat port Cali sidebleed

-MLM Mikuni intake

-Mikuni VM20 carb with velocity stack

-MLM trailtech temp mount

-Keyed kill switch wired in the headlight bucket

-Basic cord/cable management....I do like pumpkin spice lattes after all!

-No title (don’t need one here) and I transferred my old Maxi vin plate on so it’s clean-the original vin was lost to time long before me

She’s geared for hills. 42mph bike...if you change the tuning/gears I bet she could go a bit faster. She starts with barely a kick. Very proud of it but keeping my 78 rigid (also proud of it)

Pardon the pictures its rained every day for weeks so my yard is a bog....

The Dodge Ram Powerwheel is not included....

Tank is pretty clean...was coated in "Tiger's Blood" by the PO in the Netherlands so it has a weird look inside

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Good looking bike dude!

GLWS!

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Emil Kniemel /

are you able to use all the gas in the tank with that angle?

if you're willing to part the tank im interested :D

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Thanks Andy!

The pictures are misleading on the angle....plus it’s pretty “faked out” as in it looks like a 2+ gallon tank but it’s just a ~1 gallon. When it’s off the center stand it sits more level. Here’s a picture (from an older video) when she had a Rev Run on which I think shows the angle better

I really don’t want to part it out I think it deserves to be kept together at this time

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

this might be one of those rare cases, especially because of location, the parts are worth more than the bike

if you wait until spring you might see 200-300 on just that tank and seat

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Yeah Graham the black hole of mopeds sure doesn’t help my cause

I’ll give it a bit and then consider taking her apart....

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Those lines....

ditch that slanted rear rack thing itz fuglyyy

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

It’s the Free Spirit rack

Not trying to fake out a Mag-dumb

Either way it’s in the eye of the beholder!

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Where did you get the tank?

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Emil Kniemel /

oh yeah that angle does look better when the bike is flat. i like the rear rack too. the half fender thing is interesting as well!

Looks like a Peugeot TSA tank.

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Yep it’s a TSA tank....got it from Will in the Netherlands

Appreciate the positive comments on her!

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Bump

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Was fully prepared to see $1500 as a price when I saw the thread title and saw the thumbnail pic of the bike. So, I think you have a great price and should sell that thing easily, or at least you SHOULD. Glws

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Bumps

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

More bumps

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Nice lines on the bike! I would think it would sell fast.

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Hi Morgan. Can you put it in a box for me and ship it with FedEx?

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Timothy Costello /

Very interested willing to help with shipment arrangements?

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Bumps again

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

So many bumps

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Beautiful bike, wish I had space for another.

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Gonna bump through March and then I’ll consider the whole part out idea

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Try eBay before parting it. Remember eBay keeps 11% or so. Offer a boxed ship option so get a FedEx quote. I'd research how the new Tomoses are packaged for freight and do something similar.

If you do part it remember my Briton bee needs a motor.(edited)

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

If thos Is still available, how much would it cost to ship to 91803

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Guess another bump is in order

And yes the bike can be shipped but no one so far wants to pay the estimated cost so.....

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit

Bump from the grave

And yes still for sale...and yes could be shipped but the cost is so far not what anyone’s willing to pay

Unless a deal hits today....and I’ve given this beyond the college try....a part out will a come

It is what it is. Hit me up

Re: FS 1977 Free Spirit
