20HP Polini Watercooled kit for Minarelli Horizontal Engines (or mopeds)

39.3mm stroke kit (sound familiar?) is amazingly close to Garelli, Hobbit, Peugeot, and Derbi flat reed.

47.6mm piston (yes, you have to bore your cases)

INSANE transfers and exhaust

I MIGHT have lost one of the o-rings. (can't remember)

$250 shipped.

And if you want it to have a decent squish you have to cut the bottom of the cyl to get the timing the same, and cut the cases, and add material for transfers. I'm doing one now. Lots of work but once it's done it'll rule

Still for sale.

The good kind of anxiety right?

Re: 20HP Polini Watercooled kit for Minarelli Horizontal Engines (or mopeds)

This is a 3 year bump from the op. Awsome. Scooter guys don't want this? Figure this would be listed on scooter site and some jog guy would get it by meow?

I wonder how longer conrod would compare to machining base down for getting the timings right vs amount of work

Stumbled on this post in the last year and often think about it. Seeing it bumped when buzzed the other day I almost committed...just not ready to spend the $$ to get the rest of the parts for the build yet... GLWS

I’d jump on it for my mutant go fast scooter but I’ve already got an Athena LC kit and stuff waiting to be built. I’ve been focusing on my mopeds and vintage scooters more lately.

Someone put this on a Sacre Vespa Carter and then tell me how scary blasty it is…please

I have the Athena 47.6mm on my Sacre cases which should put out around 16-18hp (nominally), but this is a crazy good top end.

Re: 20HP Polini Watercooled kit for Minarelli Horizontal Engines (or mopeds)

Dude….I’d love to see that Sacre in action, I only recently discovered them and have yet to see a built one, also seems like it could be an awesome build for an LC moped

I think there were only a few brought over stateside and I can't say as if I know who owns the other <5 cases or how far they are in the builds. Mine has been sidelined all COVID, and further with some life changes, etc. But looking forward to playing with the motor soon
