where to buy: za50 output shaft caged bearing

the one that is pressed in the case (stator side), 13mmx17.5mmx15mm, the end of the output shaft rests here

puch part #900.6888 was made by Torrington which was bought and split 50/50 by koyo and timken

after talking to my bearing distributor they assumed that timken would have a replacement but I've had no luck, any help appreciated

Re: where to buy: za50 output shaft caged bearing

Here is what I got from the July 1978 Puch parts manual:

Diagram Reference # 19 is Puch part #900-6885 NOT 900-6888

Exact dimensions according to Puch are 12.7mm X 17.46mm X 15.88mm

Described as a needle bearing (Torrington)

Harley-Davidson used very similar bearings in the twin cam motors. (edited)

Re: where to buy: za50 output shaft caged bearing

If you can't find the bearing by itself then this would be a option especially if you need any of the others in the set.

Also I noticed the bearings in that kit are NOT true Torrington bearings as seen in this pic, so go back to the bearing store and search for a INA in the appropriate size. Make sure they're rated for the rpm you plan to spin it.

Complete bearing set here overseas

Look closely, notice that is does not have the true Torrington bearings in the set as pictured above^^^

its for the output shaft so it won't be spinning up like a crank bearing, but thanks for the info need to order one asap

Re: where to buy: za50 output shaft caged bearing

Hey I noticed that bearing set has every bearing BUT the one you need. See if you can get an INA type bearing in the dimensions I posted above. Yes the output shaft won't spin at crank speed but every bearing has its limits. You just need to be cautious outsourcing when you can't find original. (edited)

Hey just looked in the Maxi part manual and this is what it said:

900.6888 Needle bearing 12.7mm X 17.46mm X 14.88mm torrington replacement for 900.6885

So you have the CORRECT part number after all. The old number was superseded to the one you mentioned above^^
