Using after market external condensor: vespa

fallout Survivor /

A supplier sold me a aftermarket condensor for my Vespa Grande: Problem...

it is a little to fat for the 18 mm hole in the case. I can see what it is : a replacement condensor for 6 V vespa Scooters. I am contemplating drilling out the hole in the case or just attaching it outside . I am wondering If I need to have it connected to the case for the condensor to work electrically?

Anyone use one of these successfully?

Re: Using after market external condensor: vespa

You should just have to have it grounded to the frame. A lot of old bikes had the condensor attached to the coil.

I've seen people move them outside the case. Easier to replace at least that way.
