FS: Derbi Monster

I am selling my Derbi Project. It has a Variant, pyramid style reed valve engine, on a RD50 frame with the front end and seat off of a Yamaha DR125. It's pretty quick, but it has issues, mostly with the clutch. It will run, but stalls out at a full stop.

Headlight is off of a Jawa, tailight is a rando form a local motorcycle shop. It has two 18 inch 50/50 dirtbike tires on it.

I'm looking for $800 or trades for motorcycles or Volkswagens.

does it have pedals?

and originally would it have been considered a moped?

You can see the pedal arms in the picture. Yes it is a moped.

Evan, I have no title for it, but I do have a bill of Sale from Ohio, where they don't title mopeds...so if you do the paperwork, you can turn that into a title...

there are pedal arms on it, but it also has foot pegs, so I just used those.

it is a lot of fun on the trails...the Yamaha forks help. They are really beefy, and they have a steering dampener on them.

Because it's modified almost totally beyond recognition, I think it's the most disturbing Derbi I've seen. But I'd need to take a week of high speed driving to pick it up.

ok, cool, so it could potentially be titled in nj.

what about the running problems? whats wrong with the way it runs? what do you think it needs to fix it? no silencer? and how fast would you say the top speed is?

I would but I've got my own c5 project in the works. That front end you have looks a whole lot better than the derbi forks, and I like the smaller wheel too.

heya evan, i'm not sure what's wrong with it. Seems like there's something about the clutch. I'm not sure. But it starts and runs, but will stall at a full stop. I don't have a speedo on the bike, and never tested it for top speed, but My guess would be 40mph. The Pipe that is on it is a customized reworking of a stock RD50 pipe that my friend Eliot (the magical mechanical engineer) welded together, so it has a silencer of sorts. It's not loud.
