I'm looking to lighten my small motorcycle collection right now and pick up another moped. I'm thinking along the lines of a variated Peugeot 103, or modified Moby 50v..etc.
You guys know whats up. None of the tomos targa with a bi-turbo bullshit. I'm always up for looking and talking to everyone, but just keep in mind it's not a pos bike on my end...so please don't offer me a half rotted tank stock maxi.
So...now onto the bike. I had originally bought this cb125 earlier this year from one of my friends so I could build a race prepped, track only vintage racer for USCRA events. The problem I ran into was that the bike starts first kick every time and just thumps around everywhere like Christine from the Steven King novel...and has a title and registration. I just couldn't bring myself to chop up a bike that has a title, so I bought a scrap frame and engine...and am building up my race bike that way.
So..here's whats been done. I haven't really touched it mechanically or aesthetically since I've owned it. I've just ridden it around a bunch and put it back in the garage. No Brooklyn streets for this one.
Rebuilt front forks with new fork springs.
New Fork Oil seals
New NOS headlight ears
New 2.75 front 3.00 rear tires
New 420 drive chain
2 gas tanks, 1 cb125, 1 sl125 sloper tank
New cam chain tensioner
New engine oil seals
New simplified hand controls that retain all the stock functions.
Simplified wiring harness that does away with the battery and all the crap in the triangle space under the seat.
EBC front and rear pads
and a few boxes of stock and nos parts...random things for the cb. I also have a extra cb750 cylinder sleeve from my race project I can throw in. A small secret to building these bikes, is that a cb750 sleeve will press into the stock cylinder if bored out, and the stock or 1st orversize 750 piston will match up with the stroke of the 100 and 125. Thus bumping it up to 175-180cc, I dont remember the exact size of it.
Anyways, Thanks for everyones time.
Give me something FUN! and variated! and moped!
