What kind is this and why is it green?

What year Hobbit is this? Is this the 20 or 30 mph variety and did the owner paint it green as I have never seen one this color.

Jimbo Grand Daddy /

At least he masked it off before the rattle can job.

Probably a 78 baised on the saddle seat and sidecover color. Who knows if it's a 20mph or 30mph version. You'd have to check out the ramp plate or see if he left the stickers on the fork tube to tell.

just buy mine, mike.

Re: What kind is this and why is it green?

looks like he went crazy with that paint but that bench patio furniture seat thingy didn't hold up to rust as well

Re: What kind is this and why is it green?

He even painted some of the crome parts. Judging from the grey side covers and the fact that so many Hobbits are, I bet this is a 1978 pa50II. A majority of all the Hobbits I have ever found in the US have been. There is a vin punched into the frame under the book rack on hobbits in addition to the vin tag on the stearing tube.

Re: What kind is this and why is it green?

really... i find that the majority of 78's are pa50i

Re: What kind is this and why is it green?

^Yup. I bet it's a PA50-I.

Re: What kind is this and why is it green?

brian - maybe it's a regional thing for us... i doubt it though

Re: What kind is this and why is it green?

Yeah, seems like there is a FLOOD of PA50-I's around here. Select few PA50-II's.
