Re: WTB straight drag bars

Homedepot + hacksaw = straight bars...

Where am I wrong?

Re: WTB straight drag bars

Re: WTB straight drag bars

Home Depot..EMT conduit..3/4" = Straight bars ?

Re: WTB straight drag bars

..or is it 1/2"??

Re: WTB straight drag bars

nah, you can get bars the right size outter diameter.

They might be a hair small on the controls, but a layer or two of duct tape under the throttle and brake will have you all good. Wont even see it.

Re: WTB straight drag bars

I got some thick conduit for my motorcycle for clipons. The pipe is about .02" smaller than what it should be. So instead of being .875", it is more like .850". You need to get shim tape for stuff to work. Joe

Re: WTB straight drag bars

thanks joe and tate...i'll do that tomorrow

Re: WTB straight drag bars

F the conduit thing. I mean yeah it is cheap but just spend the 20 or 30 bucks and get some good handlebars that fit. I tried the conduit thing and ended up just buying handlebars in the end.

Re: WTB straight drag bars

ok carpy...but i cant find any shops that have actual straight ones

Re: WTB straight drag bars

From my own experience completely straight bars do not feel quite right. I understand that is what you want but it would be a lot easier if you settled for ones with a slight bend. You can get some on ebay for around twenty dollars. Here is a picture of a friend's old bike that had basic drag bars and I do not think that it detracts from the bike.

I know that you want straight but no one other than you will ever notice.

Vlado vlado /

got this lightweight alloy cheaply at local BICYCLE shop, the midle is conically thicker but a little sanding down on clips and the bar does the job

I paid $10 for mine, there are some different styles to be found at bicycle shops, I always look for alloys because of the light weight and cool satin finish, easy to cut for width, never rust...

Re: WTB straight drag bars

haha ya eric...my friend actually bought that bike m guess off of your friend. its pretty sweet but i like the other ones you ponted out on ebay. thanks man
