Re: fs: chicago, il 55,000 btu kerosene heater

How bad is it fire hazard wise?

I am not trying to be a smart ass, I really am interested.

Re: fs: chicago, il 55,000 btu kerosene heater

well, they call em salamanders cause they shoot fire, so i woulnt use it to heat a house made of exploding wood, but they are good for garages and stuff.

Re: fs: chicago, il 55,000 btu kerosene heater

Wait when did salamanders start shooting fire?

There is a whole lot of inflammable stuff in my garage.

Always oil soaked rags and cans of everything explosive leaking petcocks and whatnot.

Better keep looking.

These work great! I have the same one in my garage. I use mine to bring the temperature inside up real quick, then a regular kerosene heater to maintain the temp. I like the reddyheater for this, but for extended use, it would get much to hot inside too quick unless a thermostat was added to the power cord. they are pretty loud too. it does sound like afterburners running. a hundred bucks is a good price.

Re: fs: chicago, il 55,000 btu kerosene heater

yea this was great to warm up the ground in the garage and tools. work in bare hands!!

however, its now sold!

i still reccommend you get one if you wanted one.
