Well, you got to think, 1977 is charging 1295 for a Puch, so 1500 is not out of the question. A collector would probably pay up to 5000.

LOL, show me said "collector". you could buy 5 of those bikes shipped from france for $5000. this bike certainly isnt the rarest shit ever, these were ALL OVER europe, (motobecane = most popular moped worldwide in history?) this one just happened to catch a boat ride.
i'd say $800-900 would be a FAIR price.
1977 completely rebuilds them, paints them and usually ports them a little that and they don't sell to any one on this site. MA=cheap. not all the time but most don't buy 1500 dollar mopeds.
This moped has been for sale for a really long time on mopedshop.com for $1150, so obviously there aren't collectors willing to pay $1500 for it. My guess would be $900.
You can buy the AV10 engine from France or part of it from Benjy and mount it on a Le moped chassis (51V) the US Le moped came with the AV7 the French one came with the AV10. That's the difference. they both are 51V. Could be done a lot cheaper than 1500 bucks

the mopedshop motobecane has a short seat...eric you said they replaced it. when was it sold? i'd buy it and even put a deposit on it, but i just don't want to drive to new york on sunday if this isn't the real deal. let us know!

I just got back to Philly from Brooklyn. Got the 51V, maybe the most beautiful moped I've ever seen.
I left my apartment with Kristen (who got her first Puch Maxi moped, very clean today) and impulsively decided to take chance with Eric Mo. Drove up with snow falling against all good judgment.
I was worried about this transaction more than most, but this turned out to be a good, clean deal, the only surprise was how nice the guy turned out to be.
Put it in the back of my Accord and drove down. I'm very stoked...i'll post updates after i eat, get some sleep.
