Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

No, not that way, going north to Maine soon.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

CRAP! if i had a bigger car......i drive an MR2. no way i'm getting a ped in there

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

dude, you cant copy me THAT closely, at least get a yellow one or something.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

Well it's still here. It'll probably go this spring to some College person in MA. That ped needs nothing but a rider. It is quick and fast, I have used it up in the hills around here and it really climbs good. Only Joeped's 50 goes just as fast.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

i'll give you $15 for the triangle shaped plastic piece below the seat clamp.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

What are you talking about?

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

You don't really think for a moment ,that I am going to cannibalize this moped. Think!

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

peter, i'm going to paint my moby brown & gold man....don't worry it won't look shit like yours when i'm done with mine. i really just want working engine, i lost maitlands bid for the av10 :-(

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

No derfer, just the plastic triangle cover on the back of the seatpost.

Keep it mind that the 40 was the lowest model motobecane. Except the cady but that's a kids bike.

Its not solid gold yo!

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

What the hell piece are you talking about? And you're right, it's not solid gold, its a freakin moped, a nice one too. I think the price is fair considering the condition.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

yoyo the plastic piece here!!

is yours missing?

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

it goes on the back and the bottom of it butts up against the fender.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

There clearly isn't a piece there. They have them on 50v's but I dont think on this model

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

not the tool box covers, ON THE BACK OF THE SEATPOST WHERE THE FENDER BUTTS UP.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

Peter it's ok man.

Sheesh I though I was the one getting old.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

If you see it, it's yours with the rest of the moped, just send cash.

I actually know what he's talking about. I have a few of them somewhere in my parts bins. The triangular trim piece slides into the back of the seat post.

Here's a pic of the doohickey...

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

You have my apology Peter, Larry was kind enough to show us the part. The piece is mounted in such a way that it looks like part of the frame, so to answer your question , no it's not missing, and no I'm not dismantling a 30 year old vintage, complete, near mint ,moped. Call it what you want, it's a gold mine in my book. It was a dumb request. Use your skills and make the piece, it should not be too hard to reproduce.

ET Voila, c'est finis mon ami.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

who would have picked a moby owner for a frank zappa fan.

Re: FS Hardtail Moby in CT

i could make the piece, but its so much easier to just buy one, like yours, for $15.

When I went back and checked my Moby parts bins, I found this other plastic trim piece. I believe this is a pic of the trim piece that is found behind the seat post on a Model 40. I'm not exactly sure where that other smaller orange trim piece is from. I knew I parted out at least one Model 40 over the past 10 years.
