1979 Honda Express NC 50 Moped
This is a great Moped that commands immediate respect on the road!
-Bought this 3 years/45 miles ago from a two-stroke engine mechanic who serviced the entire bike and rebuilt the transmission. It has 3,900 miles on it but it is in great working and visible condition.
-The gaskets and all rubber on this bike are all great. Seat is in good shape. Paint looks great for its age. Tires and suspension are all good.
-I am pretty sure that the needle valve and carburetor needs to be cleaned which is pretty straight forward and common maintenance, otherwise this moped is in great shape.
-Pick-up Only (zip 18049), located 1 hour north of Philadelphia, 1.5 hours west of NYC (zip 18049)
ABOUT THE MODEL
Honda accomplished this by using a fully automatic transmission and a small oil pump to self mix the Express's oil and fuel, thus eliminating the need for premixing.
A 49cc Moped which was manufactured from 1977 until 1982, it featured an air cooled 2-stroke engine. The versions from 1977 until 1980 had a manual choke, point's ignition and a spring starter. All versions include an automatic one speed transmission with a centrifugal clutch, double suspension and forced lubrication (does not run on mix).
Today many moped hobbyists have Expresses because they are reported to be reliable. There are numerous forums and websites on which shop manuals and repair advice can be found.
