Where to get tires in L.A. for a mobylette

HI! I live in L.A. and I just got a 1979 motebecane last week that needs new tires, really bad, the tires still have the french wording on them so I am guessing these haven't been changed since it was made. bad. So, if you know of any good place I can go to get tires and possibly a check =up to make sure everything is in working order, that would be awesome!

You can get a real good deal on ebay.

Make sure thats the right size though. If you don't do ebay maybe <www.westcoastmopeds.com> can hook you up.

Their is a guy named Shaw who lives out here who will do a full check up and tune up for you. He does charge but everyone does. Their is a place in Orange country (fullerton) called myrons mopeds. Thats a small moped shop. Also their are a few gangs out here who can help you.

Any motorcycle shop can order them for you. I've got Michelins that we about 15 bucks each. if you are going to change your own tires you'll want some metal tire levers from a motorcycle shop at well because those babies are tough to get on with out at least 3 of them.

Re: Where to get tires in L.A. for a mobylette

i have some.... are they 17.5??? i can sell you some for cheap! 20 for both + shipping

Re: Where to get tires in L.A. for a mobylette

Like they said, Shaw or Myron's is the way to go. In terms of the brand of tire, I have gazelles on my motobecane and they are great. A lot of people like them. They are very hard to put on yourself without popping tubes though, so see if a motorcycle shop can put them on for you (some of them have machines to do this).

There is a moped shop on Normal and Virgil called CHOKE and they're pretty cool guys. They're located about 2 blocks away from LA Community College.
