I've got an '86 and a '91 Suzuki FA50 and both are 6v. I just now went throught the entire FA50 manual covering all years from 1981 to 1991 and each and every one list the battery as "6v 7.2kC (2Ah)/10 HR" That's right from the factory service manual.
