Fall Colors Tour

Some grabs from today's annual fall colors tour to Holland Manitoba. Our land in the city is as flat as it gets. You can stand on a beer can and see the north pole. We get really excited to see a hill and fortunately they are only two hours away. We have experienced drought conditions and the fall colors are muted with no red leaves this year. However we did take in a few attractions and I found a 68 Ford convert that might be for sale and a 89 Civic all wheel drive that is for sale. Did find a older Yamaha 350 in a car museum. We spotted a bear but he took shelter in the trees before we got close. The windmill is in Holland Manitoba...

Re: Fall Colors Tour

The leaves suck here too, I assume from the lack of water this summer? Yesterday, the 1st it was like a switch was thrown, they turned an ugly yellow and fell like the plague struck.... I'm not a "leafer" but the climate sure has been off for the last few yrs.

Re: Fall Colors Tour

Can't wait to moped during Southern Ohio's fall colors soon. Hocking Valley area and chillicothe on the Beaver side...............great colors!

Nice! A Fall colors tour in the New England area is on my bucket list. My mothers relatives are in Beamsville Ontario cross the lake from Toronto. The Spring cherry and apple blossoms are gorgeous and so are their Fall colors...

Re: Fall Colors Tour

We are almost full bloom here. Went up north yesterday and this is what we got.

Nice! We are finally getting some rain but too late to help the trees or change the leaves colors. Your north is still way the hell south of me. Driving across the border may not be a reality for a very long time yet...

Yeah , but the roads narrow and hardly any traffic to speak of .

60 metric ton baby ,

Looking at the pic again, I realize I usually move to the middle of the road when I cross a little bridge (edited)

Thanks for posting. It's been almost twenty years since I've been back and I heard a lot of the orchards have been replaced by wineries. I hardly recognized the area last time and still have fond memories of my time in Beamsville and St. Catherines. I was fortunate to be raised on cherries and peaches & cream...

I grew up in Grimsby , I picked many cherries and peaches in the 70's

Re: Fall Colors Tour

Small world. My mother was born in Grimsby Beach. In the 70's my grandfather would drive straight thru to Winnipeg...about 26 hours. He would wake me up very early in the morning by rubbing a peach across my cheek. He would usually bring enough peaches to get us thru the winter...

All good, I always wanted to drive one of those....I think I'm too old to learn now, but it looked cool, be able to see the country, be on your own etc....

I took my Kawasaki Vulcan for a ride to Beamer Falls conservation area this morning. Here's a pic of Grimsby and Grimsby Beach as seen from " The Point" .

I rode down to Grimsby Beach too . There's a dozen or so old houses that people added gingerbread to and painted them wild colors

Re: Fall Colors Tour

Fall colors in New Mexico is subtle a difference. I’m still new here, but I like it. 75* and sunny.

Re: Fall Colors Tour

Here’s some colors I’ve never seen before and some weird looking clouds. Looks like a wrinkly finger print.

@Rick ...Thanks so much for posting those shots of Grimsby. I like the wild colors on the houses. Reminds me of travelling thru rural Quebec and spotting the multiple color metal roofs on homes and cottages. Thanks everyone for your input!

Re: Fall Colors Tour

I hike with my dog at this old golf course that closed about 10 years ago. Now it's just a public park. Here's some photos from last year (10/10/20) vs. this year (10/13/21) at the same exact spot on the trail.

Last Year:

Today:

It's kinda funny how last year the colors on both sides of the trail changed to yellow, orange and red pretty uniformly but this year all the leaves just fell off the trees on the left side and the trees on the right side are still green.

weird, that is interesting

It is interesting, not that weird.

It all has to do with how much rain fell and how much the sun shined and its not that weird for two summers to have had different weather conditions.

Re: Fall Colors Tour

Yea I just don't often get to notice, so its cool to see it in that way

Nice! I've never been thru the Poconos mountains but it is on the bucket list. It is a popular tourist area and I've seen many movies shot there...Thanks for posting.
