which ones?

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Mold release spray, you can get it from an injection molding plant, some is silicone based, some plant based, but really the black rubber does not look bad.

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

I'm with you Stephen..that black does not look bad at all...it adds to the look i think more than white would

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Matches the grommets around the turn signals.

Nah boys, it needs to be white.

The grommets around the turning lights on my motoroller are chromed! not black.

Actually, i have much more updates lately!

And problems too :D

I need an advice actually!

How do i fill up this empty spot?

It must be filled up with something VERY similar in color, because i really don't want it to look different, and definitely don't want to paint it over.

it is a handlebar switch, made of some sort of hard plastic. It's hella rare and expensive, because it was ONLY on the export Tulas and pre-70's.

I searched on all our local websites, forums and dedicated groups, and also tortured all my friends with messages, and still i only got 2 of them!

One is ok, but the second one needs to be fixed. please help!!!!!!

If you got something that will definitely help the cause, please sent it to me.

or any other advices are greatly appreciated !!

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

That looks like an early form of plastic called bakelite. Have someone here on MA do a 3D printed copy in white plastic.

The broken one could be filled in with white epoxy and sanded down.

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

There are a lot of ways people repair bakelite, lots of old chipped stuff, you can find some repair tutorials and stuff

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Stunning. Its all in the prep work as your video shows. Dont rush and let that paint cure before you even think about putting it together. You're gonna want to tape or mask off painted areas during assembly to avoid chips and scratches. Tape can lift the paint off if it's not completely hardened.

There is a primer grey that has chip resist its pricey but all the restored muscle cars we do get it on the bottom 1/4
