Came home to VA last night to find out that someone fraudulently filed an unemployment claim in my name with the state of NJ. On top of that, I can’t get through to the state unemployment office to report what has happened. I locked down my credit with all the reporting agencies and filed a police report. Anything else I should do??
Change account numbers on all your cards, bank accounts, report to them what has happened, check your police record to see that there are no "new" warrants for unpaid tickets you didn't get...this totally sucks, I hope you get it successfully cleared up!
That really sucks. Just out of curiosity, How exactly did you become aware of this?
The NJ unemployment denial letter was mailed to my nj address and then forwarded to my new VA home.
