This google toolbar just appeared one day on the bottom of the screen of my phone, does anyone know how to take it off? I searched in google, but the answers didn't make sense.
Thanks! (edited)
It looks like you've opened the tabs in groups instead of new tabs. Close all of your tabs, don't hit "open in tab group" or whatever, hit "open in new tab"
Twas a chrome update. I have that now too. It automatically groups tabs. Poopoo
It sucks because I have a small phone and it gets swiped all of the time and I loose my page.
Weird — does it show all the time? That's super annoying. I don't use Android much, but I would think there has to be a way to make that go away.

There is, you have to close the tab group (and therefore all the tabs in it). It's basically tabs within a tab if that makes sense. When I'm doing wiring and I pull up a wiring diagram on here, it now opens in a tab group by default. Personally I like it, but if you don't you can just never hit "open in tab group" or whatever
I just followed the instructions here and it seems to have worked. Those tabs in tabs were annoying as hell.
Edit: i did have to restart my phone for all the changes to take effect. (edited)
I will try it out Bas.
Hey it worked! It was appearing when I scrolled upwards then would reappear when I stopped scrolling.
Thanks much!

I heard he was racist
Those dummies at google are persistent so it's back. This time you need to disable even more flags, i did this and restarted my phone and its working normally again.
"Please test another possible solution. It’s about the flags again.
So: chrome: // flags and enter “grid layout” should appear:
Tab grid layout
Tab groups
Tab groups continuation
Tab switcher on return
GTS
And so set it to Disabled for 1,2,3,4 and Enabled for 5. Restart Chrome (or preferably restart the phone)."
Personal addition; i had to search for the flags individually.
If you just never hit "open new tab in group" you'll never have this bar appear...
Except if you just click on a link it will automatically throw it in a tab, also i want my open pages to be vertically indexed en not spread out in one big mess.
malwarebytes.com
It came back after going on a certain site. I deleted my history and it hasn't come back yet.
Thanks a lot! My browser is back to normal again.
It came back and I disabled the other stuff. Its gone.

You are a genius. Thanks Bas, it helped me to return mine to normal.

You are a complete moron living under a rock.
Well, fuck.
Update: You can no longer disable grid view for tabs
Google just started rolling out Chrome 91 for Android on the stable channel. The latest update brings a host of performance improvements, visual updates, default to desktop mode on large screen devices, and more. The update also removes the ability to disable the grid view for tabs by toggling the three flags mentioned above. If you hate the grid view layout, now is the right time to switch to a different browser.
So, anyone got some good browser suggestions for Android, preferably with an ad blocker?
Oh man thats just so anoying! My browser is also f..... up again today

Or, you know, not. I actually do test this website with an ad blocker on to make sure that it still works okay for those who choose to go that route — not something every website administrator would put effort into. But I also make sure that ads are not overly obtrusive, especially for logged in users. If you use this website as much as you do I would hope that you also want to support its long-term existence.
Wow, that's a terrible one! I totally understand that some websites are unusable with the way they treat that ads.
I can ignore the ad content but it makes posting more than 3 lines difficult because the post message button gets buried. Swiping around for it sometimes wipes it right out.
