Finally got some moped projects out of the way and got the sled in the shop on Sat. It was a balmy 20 deg, good thing since Sunday dropped down below zero again.
I gotta swap the handlebars for better ones, add some foam to the seat and recover it, fix the exhaust mounting, and I wanted to get ski spreaders, new hardware, and wear rod in, but I don't think I'll have time, so I'll just get the wear rods done and do a whole steering rebuild next year.
The bars are/were awful. They had the craziest bend and they were so low and narrow they hit your knees all the time. It looked like you could remove this weird clamp thing, but it was actually welded on. I think this was some idiot engineer's idea that didn't work so they just welded it on anyway. It's Terrible, you can't even get the steering stem out or tighten up the shaft end play which is really sloppy. Totally dumb.
I paused for a half a second then got out the angle grinder... There goes the collector value.
