My uncle and I talked him into a Toyota truck. Now he only buys Toyota. Which, are good cars. Soulless, boring, also ugly. But they function reliably.
Back to the OP, my mom had a series of Berettas. She liked them. First (And only) time I ever used JB weld on a car was to seal a cracked radiator. I told her it wasn’t a proper repair but would probably last as long as she needed it to. It did.
That was my only encounter and it was GM. Just a bad design.
