My biker stepdad told me when I was like 6 years old, and I've always remembered it:

If you're gonna tell a cop to go fuck himself, wait til he's already gone.

Or live in a country where cops actually uphold the law and aren't crazy guntoting fuckbags.

I've told several cops to go fuck themselves, only cost me 150€.

The cops in this country need to be armed, as all the criminals are, most cops are good people here, but there is an element who are not and they NEED to spend the remainder of their short lives in jail, where they will be on the recieving end of what they gave out. Karma is a bitch.

Ok, don't turn that quote into something it's not meant to be. It's supposed to be used when pulled over in traffic, or caught in an abandoned house skateboarding in the pool, or other minor stuff.

I think you've misappropriated the quote, actually it's from Liam Lynch

Re: Favorite quote(s)

One of my favorite memories, hitchiking in France we were picked up by a very nice lebanses frenchman and his wife. He had a very calm and powerful presence and spoke with a great deal of clarity and wisdom.

He showed us his wine cellar and shared with us a bottle he'd saved since his son was born. Alongside a cheap bottle which he really enjoyed. And he told us this and it's always stuck with me:

"The best wine, is the wine you enjoy best"

and goddamn if that isn't profound. and it applies to so much more than wine. Don't let anyone tell you what's best for you.

And to it, I've since added, that "to truly know the best wine, you must try all the wines".

it's funny and i joke about it as an excuse to enjoy more to drink, but it's important too - that second piece really goes to the socrates quote above - that the smart man must learn from everyone and everywhere, to LEARN what about certain wines or otherwise you might like, and equally important to learn to identify and share what others might like, and of course to identify the things unpleasant; then APPLY that to curate your experiences, and seek which things YOU personally like, and not be the STUPID man who's "only ever had budweiser cuz that's the best there is gaddangit!"

Re: Favorite quote(s)

We were on vacation out west in either 1972 or 1974, so I would have been 8 or 10 years old. I'm using the urinal at the end of the hike through Carlesbad Cavern, where they have a large cafeteria and elevators to take you back up to the top of the cave.

Some old guy says to me, "No matter how much you shake or dance, the last few drops go in your pants."

Re: Favorite quote(s)

"We have one collective hope: the Earth; and yet, uncounted people remain hopeless

Famine and calamity abound

Sufferers hurl themselves into the arms of war

People kill and get killed in the name of someone else’s concept of God

Do we admit that our thoughts and behaviors spring from a belief that the world revolves around us?

Each fabricated conflict, self-murdering bomb, vanished airplane

Every fictionalized dictator, biased or partisan, and wayward son

Are part of the curtains of society’s racial, ethnic, religious, national and cultural conflicts

And you find the human ego turning the knobs and pulling the levers

When I track the orbits of asteroids, comets and planets

Each one a pirouetting dancer in a cosmic ballet, choreographed by the forces of gravity

I see beyond the plight of humans

I see a Universe ever-expanding, with its galaxies embedded within the ever-stretching four-dimensional fabric of space and time

However big our world is, our hearts, our minds, our outsize atlases, the universe is even bigger

There are more stars in the Universe than grains of sand on the world’s beaches

More stars in the Universe than seconds of time that have passed since Earth formed

More stars than words and sounds ever uttered by all humans who have ever lived

The day we cease the exploration of the cosmos is the day we threaten the continuing of our species

In that bleak world, arms-bearing, resource-hungry people and nations would be prone to act on their low-contracted prejudices, and would have seen the last gasp of human enlightenment

Until the rise of a visionary new culture that once again embraces the cosmic perspective: a perspective in which we are one, fitting neither above, nor below; but within"
