I am pleased to report that mom is doing much better. The night my mom was brought into the hospital, a resident ICU doctor administered a very strong clot buster drug called TPA. She responded very well to the drug and it brought her back from her death bed. They are now treating her COVID-19 with Rendesavir, a drug that shows promise to shorten the effects of the virus. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, I can't visit her because they do not allow anyone in the hospital other than the patient. The only time a family member can visit a patient is when death is imminent and you have to be in full hazmat gear. It's pretty much standard policy now due to the virus.
